AM Gallery in Milton Mall extened to January 2010

Great News ... the Milton Mall is allowing the AM Gallery to stay open next month as well - January 2010. More artists, more art works! This is really good news for local artists in Halton. This month has proved to be a great month in terms of number pieces displayed and sales! I think almost everyone has sold something.

We started in September with one month-long showing and now we will be going into our 5th month! I don't know about after Christmas bargains, but I do know that the class of works and artists is very high and the pieces are worth every penny the are asking.

Action at the AM Gallery

Good news yesterday - the AM Gallery sold my "Crawford Lake-2009" painting. It was actually bought by someone I know for her husband for Christmas. Shhhhhhhhh ... don't tell him!

Art Competition in Milton last weekend

Apparently I won a prize in the art competition held by Milton Art Place held last Saturday at 159 Main Street across from their store at 160 Main Street. There were 5 artists exhibiting and not too many from the puiblic were viewing and voting. I suggested that they try again in the new year and make some brochures/flyers etc and distribute them throught they area.

Other than that nothing new in the art scene that I am aware of.

This Thursday night will start the next week of openings for the AM Gallery in the Milton Mall. They will remain open daily until December 24th.

New Oil Painting

I just finished this painting last week at the AM Gallery in the Milton Mall and now have it framed on display there. It is  a scene of the sunlight coming through a forest at about 6am (in the summer) and it just caught the trees and cast interesting purlpe-blue shadows in front of the bright sunlight.

My Day of Rest

Sundays are my day of rest - even from painting and art in general. I have been pleased by the response to my Facebook Page and my other links - even had an inqiry last Friday from the web for one of my paintings (Mill Pond in Milton). I did a trace and saw that it was from my listing in the MiltonSearch.com Directory - Arts section. (http://miltonsearch.com/milton_arts.html) .

I am going to check with the owners of the Milton Art Place tomorrow and see about the competition yesterday. I hope some people showed up to vote.

Quiet Sunday

We were at both services today at Harvest Bible Chapel , ushering in the second one. It is good to hear Pastor Robbie's mesages twice. He does make a few subtle changes in each service and the impact is always new. The message was basically on the "Good Samaritan" but the focus was on the why instead of the what. Why did two stop and look and not help and why did one stop and look and help even though they were sworn enemies?

It all has to do with loving God first and then our neighbours.

Art Competition and AM Gallery

Today is the day of the art competition at Milton Art Place. I hope there are enough entries to have the competition go ahead. The prizes are supplies for the artists - and as one I know how good it would be to be able to gets canvases, paints and brushes free!

Milton Art Place is the newest art supply store in Milton and is at 160 Main Street. If you are in need of art supplies or just want to see some good art please drop by - especially today to vote for your favorite art piece.

Still on the theme of art - the AM Gallery is still on at the Milton Mall - every Thursday evening, all day Fridays and Saturdays and on Sundays from 12:00 noon to 3pm. During the week before Christmas it will be open every day.
